Pixar’s Inside Out 2 Trailer Unveils A New Emotional Turmoil In A Teenage Journey

Pixar has released the first trailer for the sequel to “Inside Out” titled “Inside Out 2”. The original film focused on 11-year-old Riley and the five emotions in her brain: Joy, Sadness, Disgust, Fear, and Anger. The sequel introduces a new emotion called Anxiety. 

Bill Hader and Mindy Kaling, who voiced Fear and Disgust in the first film, have been replaced by Tony Hale and Liza Lapira in the sequel. “Inside Out” received positive reviews and won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. The sequel is set to release on June 14, 2024.

In the “Inside Out 2 trailer,” we see Amy Poehler, who turned 52 now, confining her role as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, and Lewis Black as Anger. Additionally, Tony Hale worked as a Fear, and Liza Lapira stepped in the role of disgust. The trailer showcases the messy figure of Anxiety, voiced by Maya Hawke, who humourly gags, “I am Anxiety – where can I put my stuff?” 

Inside Out 2 release date is scheduled to hit theatres in June 2024, directed by Kelsey Mann 9, years after the first debut. The sequel delves back into Riley’s mind as she navigates the challenges of adolescence, who is the central character. 

Inside Out 2, the movie delineates how headquarters faces an unexpected devastation; Riley’s core emotions, Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger, and Disgust, struggle with the arrival of Anxiety and unknown changes accompanying her. Now, IGN reviews Inside Out 2 movies as an acme of formal and visual invention, accompanying humour, and touching reflections on understanding emotions. 

The sequel aims to continue its success, with the Inside Out 2 release date anticipated next summer. In a statement, Mann expressed, “Anxiety might be new to the crew, but she is not the type to take a back seat.”
